- The Riviera name was used by Buick as a
body style designation and not a model since 1949 until 1963.
- The 64 Riviera had a base price of $4,374
and was considered rather pricey.
- In 1964 Buick changed motors from a 401 ci engine to a 425ci V-8
"Wildcat 465" which produced 340 hp @ 4400 rpm and 465
torque @ 2800 rpm. An optional engine was the "Super Wildcat"
425 with dual carburetors which produced 360 hp @ 4400 rpm, The
"Super Wildcat" which cost $139.75.
